INGREDIENTS

  • 1 litre cold water
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 200 g maize meal
  • 20 g margarine
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp. dried parsley
  • 2 tbsp. dried coriander
  • 1 can Bull Brand Corned Meat, diced into 1cm cubes
  • 20 g margarine, melted
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

METHOD

  1. In a saucepan, mix the water, beef stock cube and salt and bring to the boil. Whisk in the maize meal, adding a little at a time, whisking continually to prevent lumps from forming.
  2. Stir using a wooden spoon, mashing the pap against the sides of the saucepan to prevent lumps from forming. Reduce the heat to a medium heat, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Stir again and cook for a further 10 minutes, or until cooked.
  3. In a frying pan, add the margarine, onion and garlic and fry for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the dried herbs and stir.
  4. Add the diced Bull Brand Corned Meat in a large, non-stick pan until soft.
  5. Add the herb onion mixture and corned meat to the pap and knead well to combine.
  6. Transfer to a baking tray and press into the tray evenly.
  7. Place into the fridge to chill and set.
  8. Cut into rounds using cookie cutters and brush each cake with melted margarine.
  9. Heat a nonstick pan and grill the pap cakes for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they form a crust or until they’re golden.
  10. Optional: Serve with a dipping sauce, either cream cheese or yoghurt.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can Bull Brand corned meat – sliced
  • 1 loaf of white bread – cut into 4 and hollowed out
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 potato – cut into French fries
  • 1 tsp Hinds Spices chip seasoning
  • 1/4 cup cheese
  • side sauce optional

METHOD

  1. Starting with the potatoes, fry in hot oil until the French fries are cooked through and soft. Season with Hinds Spices chip seasoning in a frying pan, fry the Bull Brand corned meat until browned, and season with salt and pepper. set aside
  2. Take the hollowed-out quarter loaf of bread, start filling it with the French fries first. Then add the Bull Brand cooked corned meat, slices of cheese (optional) and finally top with a fried egg.
  3. Serve with a side sauce of choice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can Bull Brand Corned beef
  • 1 tbs lemon juice / vinegar
  • 2 tbs oil
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 2 whole cauliflowers
  • 1 large tomato – diced
  • 1 cucumber – diced
  • 1 red onion – diced
  • 1 can Rhodes Quality chickpeas – drained
  • 1 carrot – diced

METHOD

  1. In a frying pan, fry the Bull Brand corned beef until brown and crispy. Set aside to cool down
  2. In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, oil and sugar and mix until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. In a bowl, grate the cauliflower, using a cheese grater. Place into a bowl and toss together with the remaining ingredients until all evenly combined.
  4. Top with the crispy Bull Brand beef
  5. Drizzle over the lemon vinaigrette and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Tbsp oil for cooking
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 12 slices of white bread
  • 1 can Bull Brand Corned Meat, cut in thin slices
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 whole avocado, sliced
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning

METHOD

  1. In a large heavy bottom pan, place your onions and oil in a pot.
  2. Cook until soft and golden brown. Set aside.
  3. On one slice of bread place 2-3 slices of Bull Brand corned meat and 1 slice of cheese, top with the next slice of bread
  4. Build you second layer with 1 slice of cheese, Avo, the caramelized onions
  5. Spread the inside of the final slice of bread with mayonnaise and place on top
  6. Smear some butter on the outside of the sandwich
  7. In a medium sized pan on a medium heat, place your sandwich and sear till golden brown on each side and the cheese is melted.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 x 300 g Bull Brand Corned Meat, cut into 1 cm cubes
  • 1 x 275 g can Bull Brand Vienna’s, drained and thinly sliced
  • 500 ml (2 C) elbow macaroni, cooked, drained and seasoned
  • 1 red pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 yellow pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, finely sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
  • 125 ml (½ C) mayonnaise
  • 65 ml (¼ C) store-bought barbecue sauce
  • 65 ml (¼ C) cold water
  • 30 ml (2 T) vinegar
  • 30 ml (2 T) sugar
  • 30 ml (2 T) barbecue spice
  • 65 ml (¼ C) parsley, chopped

METHOD

  • Place the Bull Brand Corned Meat and Vienna’s in a large bowl and add the macaroni, peppers, onion, celery and tomatoes.
  • Whisk the mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, water, vinegar, sugar and barbecue spice together and stir into the meat mixture. Season to taste, cover and chill until required.
  • To serve, transfer mixture to a large salad bowl and sprinkle with the parsley.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 x 300 g can Bull Brand Corned Meat
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 80 ml (⅓ C) coarse fresh bread crumbs
  • 65 ml (¼ C) onion, finely-grated
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 30 ml (2 T) each chopped coriander, parsley and mint leaves
  • 5 ml (1 t) ground cumin
  • 1 ml (1/4 t) each turmeric, cinnamon and chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 250 ml (1 C) Greek yoghurt
  • 10 ml (2 t) garlic, crushed
  • 15 ml (1 T) mint, chopped
  • the grated rind and juice of a lemon
  • ¼ cucumber, cubed
  • 6 pita breads
  • 6 salad leaves

METHOD

  • To make the kebabs, place the Bull Brand Corned Meat in a mixing bowl and mash coarsely with a fork. Add the egg, crumbs, onion, garlic, coriander, parsley, mint, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, chilli powder and salt to taste. Mix lightly then work the mixture into oblong sausage shapes. Insert a skewer into each ‘sausage’, place on a plate and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • To make the tzatziki, mix the yoghurt, 10 ml (2 t) garlic, 15 ml (1 T) mint, lemon rind and juice and the cucumber together. Chill until ready to serve.
  • Just before serving, bake the kebabs in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 20 – 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • To serve, heat the pita breads in the oven for a few minutes, make a split on the side of each pita, place a salad leaf inside, arrange the sausage on top and finish with a dollop of tzatziki.
